Levelling Up Fund

On the 18th of January 2023 Ashbourne was awarded £13.3m from The Government's Levelling Up Fund.

The Ashbourne Reborn Project is led by Derbyshire Dales District Council who's partners include Ashbourne Town Team, Ashbourne Town Council, AshCom, Ashbourne Methodist Church and Derbyshire County Council.

The two year development plan is focusing on three major areas.

1. The transformation of public spaces to include The Market Place, Victoria Square, Millennium Square and Shrovetide Walk.

2. A new community hub transforming Ashbourne Methodist Church into a multi purpose community building , which will provide event and meeting spaces, performance venue and flexible work spaces with high quality digital provision.

3. New traffic management to enhance the pedestrian experience in Ashbourne , this will be achieved by widening footpaths, new and enhanced crossings and connections between town centre spaces will be improved.
