HOW LONG SERVED ON THE COUNCIL:

I joined the Council in September 2022.

Committees and Representative

  • Deputy Chair of Finance
  • Community & Environment
  • Town Council representative for Air Quality Action Plan

BIT ABOUT YOURSELF IE: FAMILY, WORK, HOBBIES ETC:

I am a retired Chartered Accountant, married to Keith, no children. We moved to Ashbourne in 2016 as our "forever home", after holidaying here for many years. We enjoy the outdoor life and are very conscious of climate change and the need to care for our environment. We both have a strong community spirit and now we are retired we have the time to get involved.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IE: SCHOOL GOVERNOR, OTHER COMMITTEE INVOLVEMENT:

You can often see me around town picking up litter – recognisable by my signature look of very bright leggings! I am on the Ashbourne Town Team and webmaster for www.discoverashbourne.com. I am also a regular volunteer for Ashbourne Parkrun and for Ashbourne Foodbank. And finally I am a local footpath warden for The Ramblers, which basically means walking my patch once a year and notifying any issues to the County Council.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO IMPROVE THE COMMUNITY:

Ashbourne has many challenges – expensive parking, terrible traffic, weeds growing everywhere & dangerous road junctions just to mention a few of them. Its also a great place to live with excellent shopping, good schools, and a warm & welcoming community, all situated in fabulous countryside. I want to try and use my influence in the Council to make some lasting improvement to the challenges and continue to promote the good.
