BIT ABOUT YOURSELF IE: FAMILY, WORK, HOBBIES ETC:

I am a local person, having been born and brought up in Ashbourne. I live with my wonderful partner Ian, and have 2 grown up children, a daughter Lisa who is married to Dave, a son Paul and 2 grand children Archie & Isla. I have been employed by DDDC at Ashbourne Leisure Centre as a swimming teacher and trainer for 20 years. Prior to this I was in the Women's Royal Naval Service. I am a passionate Downard and enjoy most sports, especially football, Manchester United and Barcelona being top of the list.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IE: SCHOOL GOVERNOR, OTHER COMMITTEE INVOLVEMENT:

I am an active member of The Royal British Legion and the towns Parade Marshal. I am an original Marshal for the Royal Shrovetide Football. I have been involved in the Mappleton Raft Race & Bridge Jump as commentator and general dogs body for almost 20 years. I am also involved with Ashbourne Heritage Society, the future of The Memorial Gardens and Park Project as well as the local plan.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO IMPROVE THE COMMUNITY:

I can convey views and opinions on behalf of the local community. I am very proud of our towns heritage and traditions but I am also aware that we are in the 21st Century and need to move forward sensitively. As a member of the Town Council I hope, together, we can achieve this. I have never been afraid of voicing concerns or issues as everyone who knows me will confirm.
